I am looking at installing around 1000 TRIPLE BREAKER DOCKING STATIONS in locations throughout the US. Customer is requesting Concrete Cable Troughs between the Genset and the Docking Station and between the UPS room and Docking Station.
I have installed this type of wireway for rail and roadway installations where the NEC does not apply. However, these locations for this installation are all public access locations where the NEC would apply. I am not finding anything in the NEC that allows or bars the usage of the precast concrete trough system. Installing 4000A 480V cabling.
Two questions:
1. Is this legal to use outside of a rail or roadway installation?
2. Does the cabling need to be a specific type of cable?
These cables will be placed in the trough with no cable tray or conduit.
