I am trying to get away from the company I presently work for. I talked to a new contractor, who lives next to me.

I haven't seen the problem first hand, but I would like to solve the problem for him.

Here is the situation. He has a customer who does concrete polishing on new slabs. The contractor has a trailer with a generator which puts out 480 V, three phase. It is connected to a second trailer with a wye-wye x-frmr. The second trailer provides pwr. to cord connected concrete polishing equiptment.

Does the second trailer reqiure a ground rod? I thought this would be useless. I sugessted he bond the second trailer to the building structural steel. He liked the idea, but said structural steel is not readily available. The polishers go in after shell & core is done.

The second x-frmr is obviously a seperately devired system. How should it be bonded?
