condensate pumps

Does anyone think that these would fall under 400.7(A)(6)?
That is, able to be used in a hung ceiling with a cord.
I was thinking that, maybe, with a single twist lock it might work.
Opinions please.:-?

How about 400.8(5)

The NEC prohibits flexable cords above ceiling no mater what it is used for or how it is connected.

I agree that this is prohibited and is the type of equipment I see the most with a cord above a hung ceiling.

Thanks, guys, I just found out that they make direct wired condensate pumps.

The intent per section 400.8(5) is that these cords can go unattended for quite a while and become dry and brittle...etc.
