Will code allow conductor ampacity less than its over current protection devices? (besides articles 430 and 240.4(B)? Thanks!
 
Do you mean will it allow the ocpd to be larger then the wire ampacity? You can always have less amps on the conductor if the OCPD is correct so I think you meant what I stated above.

Allowed for motor branch circuits too. And for feeder taps. The reason is, both are presumed to have overload protection at the far end
