What is the limit on 8awg in 1" rigid?
Since you are a student, some of us prefer to teach you how to obtain answers yourself, rather than just providing the answer and teaching you nothing.

In this case, you have not provided enough information to do either. What type of 8 AWG conductor, copper or aluminum? ...insulation type? Which limit? Rigid steel or PVC?

OK, What I've come accross is the following:

According to Table C.1 - 8awg THWN has a maximum of 9 conductors

Is this correct?

Thanks!

oops . . .scratch that!

I found Table C.8 "Max number for Rigid Metal Conduit"

Looks like the number is 4. Can anyone give me some feedback?

Thanks

Your in the right area, but the wrong table... C.1 is for EMT. Look for the "rigid" table.

Incorrect. (Right table, wrong number)

Another issue to point out, if you are not aware of it, is the equipment ground conductor (EGC) also counts in conductor fill.
