I have a 400 amp Meter section that is going to feed a 150 HP VFD cabinet. The motor draws 171 amps. The VFD has 350 amp, 500 volt semiconductor fuses and the VFD is about 10 feet away from the Meter section. Do I need a separate Disconnect other than the one in the VFD, and can I run wire big enough for the Motor load or do I have to run wire sized for the 350 amp fuses?

171 amps is the FLA
The conductors to the VFD must have an ampacity of at least 125% of the drive input amps.
