I have a project where the contractor installed conductors in a 208Y/120V switchboard. The conductors are resting against the bus bars. I am afrain that any vibration could damage the conductor over time.

I cannot find anything in the NEC that discourages or disallows conductors resting against the bus bars.

Are you also concerned that vibration will cause damage to the conductors inside of a 1-gang box, where just about everything touches them or in a JB where the cover is the only thing keeping them from 'springing out'?

wires resting on a buss bar might be a reason for concern. we had a WLI switch with 12470 the C phase was up against the A phase buss and it rubbed the wire to the high voltage shield and caused our power to be out for approx 6 hours. but im sure this took a while to rub through the insulation.

can't the wires be supported in a better other than resting on the bus bars?
There must be room in the switch board to keep them off the bus bars.
