greetings earthlings,

Am I mistaken in believing that all 14/2 or 12/2 NM romex is rated for the 90 degree C requirement? All new wiring must meet that standard of 90 degree C in residential work? Thanks in advance for your time.

ciao,
Fred in Saint Louis MO

You can use the 90 degree C rating for derating purposes, but your OCPD can't be larger than the 60 degree C ampacity listed in 310.16.

As a contractor, I am curious why you are asking such a question?

My guess is that someone who works with generators and transfer switches doesn't use much romex.
