Conduit above saltwater

What type of conduit would you recommend for use directly above salt water? The installation is a generator mounted on a pier about eight feed above the water. Is the plastic coated rigid steel conduit any good or is stainless steel necessary? I have heard mixed reports. Appreciate any input.

I was thinking that if PVC coated RMC is good then SCH80 PVC should also be good. If neither of those are acceptable then stainless steel should be used. I believe that this is all stainless steel.

I worked with stainless a lot in plants and food processing. PIA to do if you are not setup for it at 2AM.

Is that a pair of pumps? With pilings driven to protect them?

The pilings are probably left over from 100 years ago along the Hudson River. If I remember correctly this was a feeder and data connection for a floating barge converted to a restaurant. I guessing that there are some sort of underwater cables and those are stubs down into the mud.
