I am installing a power pedestal (a 120 v gfi and a 250 v outlet for a water pump) on awater and chemical loading site for agricultural spray planes. The customer wants to run underground pipe from his jet "a" fuel containment area tank 25 feet away out to the loading site and then set a hose reel near my pedestal. What are the hazardous boundaries to this reel? I have rigid conduit stubbed up 20 inches above the concrete loading area for the pedestal.

You will first need to get a copy of the fuel MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) . If it is truly Jet A, then it has no Article 500-516 requirements. Otherwise you need to review 513-515 for possible applications and we will need more detail to help.

For Jet A - probably none. Flash point is listed as 100F or greater. That is unclassified. However, lots of owners have specs requiring C1,D1 or C1, D2 equipment for avation grade kerosene loading facilitiies.

But I wouldn't take my word for it. Recommend reading art 500, 501, 510, maybe even 513, 514, and 515. And I would certainly check the owner's specs.

edit: Slow poster. Add, "Adding to Robert's comments."
