Take-up deduction?
Usually printed on the side of the shoe for most benders - but you can easily find out by marking the conduit and shoe then make a test bend to find out. Make a registration mark before you bend - then bend it and measure from that to stub-up, center of bend and back of bend.

For an 1 1/4 EMT bender used as a 1" RMC bender most will be ~12" nothing in life is exact.....

For instance: This is a 5"deduction on 1/2" emt for an 8" stub up

(FYI other people who have seen this I think they have up-dated it a little for conduit spacing...)

i didnt use a chicago bender or any mechanical benderfor that matter in a long time. i just use the benfield style benders. my boss buys the 90 degree sweeps for anything larger than 1 1/4 emt :(
