314-36 to get the correct size of the conduit body, to go to table 312.6(a) there is no table at that location. I need to know the correct size of the conduit body using 3 #2/0 wires.

Leo.

If you are looking at 2005 NEC 314.28(A)(2)exception, you will find the mentioned Table 312.6(A) many pages earlier in the Code at Article 312.6

You have to look in the NFPA National Electrical Code, not the Mike Holt Guide, to find Article 312.6. In the 2005 NEC Article 312.6 you will find the Table you are looking for.

Thank you, Leo

Leo,

In the NEC (2005) 314.28 (1) & (2)the rules are 8X on the straight, and 6X on the mix (angle pull). Flip to Annex C and establish what kind of raceway to use. Say EMT - go to Annex C1(back of the code book). Three #2/0 THWN's 1 1/2" is the minimum, per chart. Safe would be 2".

Also, it should be stamped in the fitting as to what the max capacity of the conduit body is.
