Conduit entering the top of NEMA 3R enclosure

I have been searching for a while to find the actual code section that requires the use of either a Meyer's hub or sealing locknuts for emt feeders leaving the top of a NEMA 3R panelboard. Can anyone help?

It is my understanding that Meyer's Hubs and sealing lock nuts are only U.L. listed for rigid.

Kind of a catch 22. Not listed for the purpose but is probably better that just a raintight fitting IMO.

I've never seen this tapered thread issue enforced. Any of you? It's standard practice around here to use w.t. emt connectors with bell boxes outdoors and in wet locations.

As a typical practice I would route conduit in such a way that I would not have to enter the top of a NEMA 3R box. But it looks like previous postings have found the relevant code references for fittings to use.
