How do I calculate conduit fill for SER? I understand since it's one cable that it can occupy up to 53% of the conduit. Do I look at the individual conductors inside and use that in my fill calculations or the OD of the single cable and use that as my fill?

https://www.southwire.com/wire-cable/building-wire/ser-aluminum-service-entrance/p/13102901 This has an OD of .895", so to the inside diameter of my conduit would need to be 1.69" or larger to meet the 53% requirement (or 2" SCH40 PVC). Is this the correct interpretation?

Yes you use the cable OD to find the area of the cable and then compare that to the area of the raceway with the fill not exceeding 53%.

Here's my calculation. Someone should check my numbers as it's been a while. :)
OD=diameter=.895"

Area of conductor=1/4*3.14*d²=.628 square inches
.628/.53% fill = 1.186 square inches minimum area required

Chapter 9:
SCH40 1½"=1.052 square inches-too small
SCH40 2"=1.744 square inches-okay
