I want to run a circuit for electric car charging from my house to my unattached garage in underground in schedule 80 pvc conduit. At 50 amps I must use # 6 Awg conductors. But since the 240 load is almost entirely balanced then must the neutral and ground be the same wire gage as the 240 volt conductors?

Let him look up the EGC in Table 250.122
Let him ask the inspector about the neutral

Forum rules prohibit us from assisting a person to perform or assist others to do electrical work who are not qualified. The reason is that the forum’s owner does not want a person to get an answer to the question they asked, but not get answers to the other questions they should have asked and were unaware they needed to ask.
