Hi,
I was looking for some information on how to size conduit for Cat 6 cable. Does anyone have an literature on this or how to do it. I am very familiar with sizing conduit for standard conduits with the values in chapter 9.

cat 6 cables would fall under article 725 as class 2 circuits.

725.3 Other Articles. Circuits and equipment shall comply
with the articles or sections listed in 725.3(A) through (N).
Only those sections of Article 300 referenced in this article
shall apply to Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 circuits.
(A) Number and Size of Conductors in Raceway.
Section 300.17.

IIRC, there is no derating for multiple conductors in a raceway specified in article 725 for class 2 circuits.

You find the diameter of the cable you are using, then calculate the area and use the information in Chapter 9 Tables 1 and 4.

Also some manufactures of those types of cables have instructions that specify a maximum conduit fill, and those often show less cables than was the Chapter 9 calculations would permit.

Since they don't appear to be referenced in article 725, I am not sure this is required, although it is probably as good a place to start as any.

They make special ducts to carry such cables. They might be a better choice than standard conduit.

725.3 (A) refers to 300.17.

300.17 does not reference chapter 9.
The rule in 300.17 is a generic performance rule and the Informational Note sends you to the prescriptive rules in the raceway xxx.22 sections and the xxx.22 sections sends you to Chapter 9
