Hi guy first time posting
I have 1-1/4 emt and i want to put 9-#12 and 3-#8 do i derate 4-6 conductor it's been a while i forget how to do this

You're asking two separate questions, one regarding conduit fill the other regarding derating. As Roger said you need to determine the number of CCC's to derate. Conduit fill is based on 40% fill of the raceway.

you need to look at what your breaker size will be after the derating. The total picture is what you need to look at. Wire size alone does not mean anything.

To give you any better answer we need to know what the circuit consist of, such as how many neutrals, what type load, and what supply (3 phase or single phase). You have to take all that into consideration to determine how many of those 12 conductors are considered current carrying. If the all are, then your multiplier would be .50
