I’m taking over a job in the previous guy, ran fire alarm wire floor to floor on a 10 story high-rise but he did not sheath the wire up to 7 foot like code requires. Does anyone know of any flexible conduit that would work in the situation that I could slide over the wires?

Check this out! Hadn't seen it before.

Only goes down to 1", though.

You'll obviously need something with a removable cover. Roger's Wiremold might work if they'll accept that as a form of protection. A 4"x4" wireway would also work sitting directly one the floor and attached to the wall.

That’s what my boss was thinking. Some floors have an issue of being more than 4 inches off the wall. I like the black flexible split hose option if they’ll accept it or the conduit repair option. Here’s a few more pictures. I’m wondering if sliding that black conduit over the pvc with a clamp ring or something because as you can see on these floors the 4x4 might not work.

IMO that stuff is next to useless for protection from physical damage. The wireway can be supported to the wall with threaded rod.

Okay thank you. That is actually helpful to know. Yeah I didn’t think it was ideal either. Believe it or not it’s passed inspection somehow already the way it is. We will fix it right though.
