I recently removed a false ceiling in the garage to open up to the rafters. Above the ceiling was the wiring for the lighting and is simply hanging down (not even stapled properly). I am installing new lighting and running new wire anyway. My question is if I run the new romex through the wall studs and staple properly along the side of the rafters up to the fixtures and properly clamp into my boxes am I in code? (Or do i need to run through a schedule 40 pvc type conduit like on exterior?).
