Have a Communications Equipment Ground conductor passing through metal EMT between 3 to 10ft (conduit length). Conduit is being used to support / protect the ground wire. Is this EMT required to be bonded on both ends?

With such short pieces of metal sleeve used, I cannot see how this would still require bonding. NEC 250.86 Exception #2 states that short sections of metal raceway used to provide protection or support shall not be required to be connected to the GEC. NEC 300.10 Exception #1 states the same thing.

Thanks

If it is an EGC, it has to be run with the supply circuit conductors, and bonding the raceway is not an issue.

If this is some type of bonding for communications or computer systems, the NEC has no rules that apply to the installation.

That being said, if there is any possibility the conductor will ever be called on to carry a large amount of current, it should be bonded like required for a GEC to avoid the current limiting effects of inductive reactance.
