Conduit Supports

There is box that is mounted about 8' below a ceiling in a warehouse. The box is suppoted by 3/8" allthread rod to the structure above at each corner. The 1 1/2" EMT that terminates in the 12"x12"x6" junction box is only supported at the ceiling level. Does this conduit need an intermediate support between the ciling and the junction box.

358.30(A) requires a support within 3' of the box or use the exception no. 1 to 358.30(A) and you can be 5' from the box.

Thats a good question.

In a simple term of explanation it is a structural (steel) shape such as a (angle iron or channel) that allows a electrician to fasten and support conduits, boxes, and other equipment to a building structure.

Its uses are many and used throughout commercial industrial electrical work.
