Hello everyone:

What type of conduit recommended for above floor indoor pool area application? I know the nonmetallic type (PVC) or PVC coated metal conduit will be good choice but is IMC or Rigid Metal Conduit will handle this corrosive environment? Thanks,

I would stick (no pun intended) with PVC. I've seen too many corroded metal conduits in areas subject to the pool chemicals.
You could use a coated metal conduit but that would be pricey.

Does PVC sch. 80 last for a long time or it comes a part at the joints after a long time of installation?

If the proper application of the PVC solvent is used the joints should be good. The only time I have seen joints come apart were if the solvent wasn't applied correctly, wrong solvent used, or when used outdoors in a vertical position and no expansion coupling was used for the conduit when it emerged from the ground.

As far as the PVC lasting, IMO, it will outlast the metal conduit.

+1
plastics do not chemically decompose as fast as metals will
proper cleaning and gluing of PVC should create a permanent bond for life. stress testing glued joints may or may not show joint failure, its kinda like properly gluing wood together or welding metals together, the joint could be stronger than the rest.
