We are a European company in the paper machine business.
In urope we are not using the American way of Conduit system but rather a system of protection pipes that have open bends, does not connect to terminal boxes etc. and is more used for routing the cable on the machine that protecting the cable.

If supplying to USA, is it possible for us to still use the Protection pipe system or is NEC always requiring a "Rigid Conduit" system to keep all cables inside a metal enclosure all the way from source to consumer. ?.

Re: Conduits V/S Protection pipes.

If you are supplying to US businesses, then you must follow the US rules. But I am a little confused. Are you a manufacturer of equipment? If so, then the National Electrical Code would not apply to any component or part of your equipment.

Please note, however, that depending on your prospective customers, you may have to have your equipment tested by a nationally recognized laboratory, and have it listed or labeled by that lab. In order to pass the testing, the internal routing of wires may have to be more like you have seen in USA-built equipment that European-built equipment you described.
