Conflict between UL and NEC?

Caddy has a romex support clip (#RMXATS) that attaches to the T-bars of suspended ceilings that's UL listed. According the 300.11(A) cables and raceways shall not be supported by ceiling assemblies.

How can they be approved for that application and comply with NEC? :-?

300.11(A)(2)Exception: The ceiling support system shall be permitted to support branch-circuit wiring and associated equipment where installed in accordance with the ceiling system manufacturer?s instructions.

How can they be approved for that application and comply with NEC?

I know of no UL requirement that an item must comply with the NEC for it to be listed.

For example, there is a UL Listing for cord and plug connected condensate pumps, but article 408 prohibits them from being installed above drop ceilings.

The cord and plug connections can be used in different locations, the clips are made for just one. Now to track down suspended ceiling manufacturers' requirements.
