Conflict between UL and NEC?

I know of no UL requirement that an item must comply with the NEC for it to be listed.

For example, there is a UL Listing for cord and plug connected condensate pumps, but article 408 prohibits them from being installed above drop ceilings.

The cord and plug connections can be used in different locations, the clips are made for just one. Now to track down suspended ceiling manufacturers' requirements.
