Can anyone tell me what the code is for outlets on a bar? I would like to have a 12 foot long bar with cabinets on one side with the countertop extending 16 inches past to form a bar for eating at. I have amble preparation areas in other places in the kitchen and am planning on serving food only here. Thanks for any help!

Since you are dealing with a bar and not a kitchen counter top. 210.8(A)(7) Receptacle outlets shall not be installed in a face-up position.Wet bar sink-where the receptacles are installed to serve the countertop surfaces and are located within 6 ft. of the outside edge of the wet bar shall be GFI protected. You can put one or fifty, it depends on you.
