8000 hours of OJT and 720 class hours. Once you complete that you only 6 months to take your E-2 test. Wate two years and then you can take the E-1 along with the busness law exam. If you have school, hours or a license from another state the site that stickboy gave is the place to check.

When you say "take a job" I assume you mean a job working for a licensed contractor?

In that case you need 1 of 3 things:
An apprentice card
Journeyman's license (E-2)
Contractor's license (E-1)

If you are planning on doing work as a contractor, then you need to have an E-1 license. A journeyman's won't cut it.

I spoke with the licensing bureau. today and they told me that with an E-1 you can work as a journeyman so why not take the E-1 and get the best of both worlds??? This one is a no brainer. Thanks for the link stickboy and peter d and Marissa see you soon!!! Can a cow ride the ferry??

Because, if you carry an E1 your suppose to have a business, this is my understanding of the situation, We go over this at are Continuing Education Class every year, but I can't seem to remember the exact wording...

Or Massachusetts. ;)

Well yes I can run a business with one apprentice under my J-mans license.

If I want to expand I would have to have a masters license.....but I would also have to keep my j-mans license if I want to continue working with the tools.

Again you are correct about the CT law which says if you have an E-1 you must have a buseness. But it is seldom ever used, the state makes more money from us on the E-1 then an E-2 every October. As an CEU instructor its good to see someone listens to the classes.

I have only taken one masters licence and found that it wasnt on anything that I readilly knew and had to look up a large portion of it. This is what I think the reason is to show you can find the correct answer in the code book. I guess about 50% was on basics though.
