Can the direct burial, limited energy, cable as normally used for low voltage lighting also be used for other low voltage applications? NEC 300.5 column 5 Says we can use 6" of cover with this type cable "..for irrigation control and landscape lighting limited to 30v..". Can I use it to power a pump in a pond, attach a few solar panels on the DC side, or for LED lights in a shed? All these would be less than 30v and within the ampacity of the cable. Thx, -Phil

Its dependent on the UL listing for the type of cable and maybe in Art 400.
Their is a nice document from UL that explains the listing marks on cable
