Am I eligible to take the E-1 exam?

According to this page from PSI there seem to be two options:

1. Forward a letter of completion of an apprentiship program, or
2. Become an apprentice.

Understanding that this is paraphrasing and not the actual law text, I have held my Ohio license for twelve years, had to show five years experience before that, but never was an "apprentice". That is a union term around here. Would Connecticut likely accept my license as the needed experience to sit for the exam?

The state DOL is present every time an application is rejected and brought in front of the panel for exception.
The process is easy IF you follow their requirements (book learnin :) and practical) lets not call it apprenticeship. You are required to have formal training in grounding, blueprints, etc and practical training (which your Ohio license would satisfy).
NYS mater licensed electricians are rejected for "training" reasons.

When you got your Ohio license and had to show "training", you would still need to prove to the board that this training conforms to the requirements set by PSI

Not impossible...
