An exception for receptacles that are not readily accessible will be added to an existing amendment to Section 210.8(B), which requires that all 125-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20-ampere receptacles installed within 6 feet of the outside edge of a sink or lavatory to have ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for personnel.
Section 210.12(B) will be amended by deleting the requirement for AFCI combination type and adding an exception for smoke detectors installed in bedrooms, provided the smoke detectors are not installed on branch circuits supplying other outlets within the dwelling unit bedroom.
