I am checking the compatibility of a UK rated 3-wire 230vac spa to a US GFCI. They use a blue and brown wire for their hot lines and ground however, they don't use a neutral leg. I've connected the spa pack and all the equipment works fine but I'm not sure if I'm going to get a low level power leak back to the water. Also, will it detect a ground fault without the neutral connected? In my experience, you can run some equipment without a neutral leg as long as the neutral is ran from the main panel. Any info would be appreciated.

It’s unclear how your occupation is related to the electrical field.Your UK hot tub is not NRTL listed and won’t pass electrical inspection, and we can offer no further assistance.
