Contactor between LINE reactor and VFD?

In a scenario where there is a panel controlling a primary and backup motor, it would be advantageous to use the same up-stream hardware (over-current protective device (OCPD), reactor and disconnect) for two different variable frequency drives (VFDs).

Are there any issues (technical or code compliance) with placing the contactor between the reactor and the VFD? (This is not a load reactor; it is a line reactor.)

Kind of defeats the purpose of a back motor as you still have multiple common points of failure. However I don't see a code or technical issue doing that. It is common to have a VFD with an across the line stater in the same cabinet for a back up if the VFD fails. The switching between the VFD and the starter is via a line side contactor.
