Hello,
We have an oil filled transformer using Hyvolt II mineral oil for cooling. In process of oil filling, silicone oil was introduced from one of totes previously used to store silicone oil by mistake. The transformer oil was tested and confirmed to contain 5 ppm of silicone.
What is the extent of damage and danger of operation for the transformer?
Can the oil be processed to remove the moisture and how?I
What is the danger for the future testing and processing?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

1) Talk to the transformer manufacturer.
2) what danger did you have when you did the last test sample that showed 5 ppm. There is no danger if done properly.
3) the oil can be drained and filtered.
4) go after the company that did the transformer service if it is a concern.
