I have been ask to research this. I have attached the questions sent to me!

A number of years ago I was told that new electrical installations were no longer allowed with line voltage control [230 /460 volts] on control devices.
I understand that existing installations are grandfathered in, but new installations must be 120 volts or less.
I have asked some suppliers of motor controls and came up with an ?I don?t know? response.

Thank you for your help.

Try looking at 430.71 through 430.72 NEC 2008
It doesn't seem to limit control voltages at all.
