INstalling a design build control panel, small job, only 6 relays, however, it has come to my
attention there are two control circuits, one that requires 24vdc and 12vdc. The control
circuit is 120v. Admittedly, i am green on the control part of the elec. side, do i need a
control xfmr. or are there relays that allow for a 120v control circuit and the contacts can be of different voltages?????? hope i am clear and appreciate this venue and the help
recieved.

Absolutely. Your relays will have a specified voltage for the coil and a specified maximum voltage for the contacts. The voltage transferred through the contacts does not have to match the coil voltage, they are two completely seperate things. You should be able to find most types of relay with several coil voltages.

I hope this helps.

Yes the contacts and coils can operate at different voltages, but you will still need two control xfmrs. One at 24 volts and one at 12. I think this is what you are asking.

I'm a little confused here about your ambiguous use of the term "control circuit". From the sounds of it, you have 120VAC in the panel to power up the relays, right? Then you have control devices that are switching 12VDC and 24VDC circuits coming from somewhere else, right? Or do you have control relays that need 12VDC and 24VDC for their coils and they are switching the 120VAC that is already in the panel?
