A question came up on an hvac site. "every time I have a short in the secondary side of the circuit, the primary winding is open, and when the primary shorts out the secondary opens"
Is there any relationship to what opens? I would think that if the secondary circuit shorts or faults the current/heat would build in the secondary of the transformer, because of smaller wire and more turns, and it may melt the insulation on the secondary or primary depending on chance. any views on this? thanks
