Hey all,
I have an older QO(90's so not that old) panel I am trying to "convert" to feed through 200 amps. I came across a feed through breaker that can be installed in 4 breaker slots.

Is this the best way to do this? Do they make add on feed through lug kits for this purpose. The only thing I worry about with the breaker type is how well is stays fastened onto the buss with 4/0 coming out of it.

I've heard of that but never used it or seen it used. I would not use it for reasons you have described and more.

Most of us would do one of two to three things. Either change the 200 amp panel to a feed through panel ..
(2) Probably the most popular would be to install a 100 amp breaker to feed the sub then pull the bigger circuits from the main.

(3) Same as the 100 amp breaker but increase it to 125. You can still run a 125 amp breaker off that panel with out using the big 4/0 and the breaker is more manageable then the 200 of what you have described. Not to mention the cables.
