Hi All,

Can anyone reference an article that states that a conveyor requires warning start sirens?

Thanks in advance.

Okay, I've found this

[h=4]ASME B20.1-2015[/h]But is this compulsory in regards to the NEC.

Forgive my ignorance, I'm an IEC guy.
The NEC, for the most part, restricts itself to material and methods related to electrical installations.

90.1 Purpose
(A) Practical Safeguarding. The purpose of this Code is
the practical safeguarding of persons and property from haz-
ards arising from the use of electricity.

The NEC, for the most part, restricts itself to material and methods related to electrical installations.
To add to that the warning siren would be a warning for a mechanical hazard, the movement of the conveyor, which is why it is not something addressed by NEC. The energizing of the circuit to the conveyor is a shock hazard or maybe a thermal hazard if conductors are too small - which the NEC does address with it's requirements.
