Hello :) Currently fitting kitchen and the sparky that first fixed got kicked off the job due to damage he caused. I’m only fitting the kitchen side of things. However on installing the cooker hood all went well until the chimney cover.

when the cover isn’t on the extractor works no issues, all speeds and lights. As soon as I put the lower section of the chimney hood on it trips the electrics. Any thoughts on why this is happening and how to fix it? Is it a problem with the hood itself?

What trips? Breaker? GFCI?

As always, check the connections. I'm betting on a GFCI trip due to a ground-neutral connection when the cover is on.
