A cooler in a store or restaurant, installing EMT conduit, with metal 4sq. boxes. Can I use set screw fittings in this application? Do I need to stay off the cooler by 1/4 inch? Is a cooler considered a indoor wet location per 300-6?

Re: cooler wiring

We always used EMT with compressiuon fittings, and damp or wet boxes. (Bell boxes with gasketed covers). PVC would get brittle and maybe shatter. But the compressors electrical is always NEMA 1, or indoor dry. So, I guess your set screw fittings and 4-square boxes would be OK. Unless the interior of the reefer is intended to be hosed out periodically.
