good luck with that one, i have a heck of a time keeping up with wire prices as they have been so violtile over the last three years, best i have been able to do is keep with my suppliers to let me know of price increases going up down the road..... funny though they never seem to let you know when it is falling, prices are based on current market at time manufacture aquires raw material, then manufacturing cost + mark up, middleman + mark up, distributor + mark up, you + mark up

no wonder it is so expensive!

I do not have a relationship between copper base and wire prices but I do have the attached wire pricing per week for about the last four years. If you can give me a good copper base comparison per week I may be able to create a formula for what you are looking for. Also this pricing is for the Kansas City area which may be a little different from your area.

I have a spreadsheet that my Southwire rep gave me that will calculate budgetary prices for 600V and 5kV tray cable based on the current copper price. I would imagine that a distributor or manufacturer could do the same thing for single conductor THHN or whatever you're looking for.
