Does anyone know what the calculations for ampacity of copper busbar are based on? Is it aimed at keeping the temperatures at the wire terminal at rated levels or based on the basic material properties of copper ( i.e. it will begin to change composition or loose strength)? Also can you point to any literature for basis.
