I see it mentioned in 240. To be honest that is the only spot I have seen it. Never have seen copper-clad before, with price of copper I am up to try new things.

Does copperweld still make 12-2/10-2 cca. My supply house called them and they had no idea of what I was talking about.
I can’t get ahold of them. Any one have any links or know of anything, or I am chasing my tail?

There has been a handful of articles in recent years about bringing CU clad AL back to the market place. For whatever reason it has never happened.

Ive been to two brand new houses in my area and they were wired with it recently. I called
To have it priced and it was about 10% lower than copper.

I called copperweld never return phone calls. My supplies house called, There rep for copperweld said they did not know what I am talking about.who did you call Flanative to find prices.

Just update incase people are wondering. Copperweld finally called me back and they only sell to Contractors and not distributors. They are not going nationwide yet on there product.

That's interesting. I wonder if they are only targeting the large tract home builders, and staying out of distribution alleviates them the hassle of problems and returns from ECs who tried and hate the product.

He told me they do not have the mean yet to mass produce on that scale. They are still fighting the stigma of aluminum house wiring of the 70s and some AHJ have banned the use of their product.

Figured I update some information on this. I am receiving a sample from company and they would like to see how the local AHJ likes them.
I have a house coming up and would like to give it a try.
Since this is a legal wiring method I am going to give the owner a price with copper vs Copper clad and see what he thinks.

For you young guys, I re-wired a house from K&T using 12-2 wg copper clad in 1967 (and with Zinsco breakers)

Last time I drove past that house it had not burned down yet.
