We have a panel on an open mechanical mezzanine that serves mechanical equipment serving a COPS area. The 2008 code states that any panel supplying service to equipment in a COPS area must be in a 2 Hr rated enclosure. In an effort to keep from having to enclose the mezzanine with rated drywall walls, the GC is coming back to us saying that it is our responsibility to provide this 2 Hr rated enclosure for our panel.
Has anyone run into this before and does anyone even make such an enclosure?
