cord caps,and bodies

what are the, accepted uses for cord, caps and bodies, as it seems like they aren't suited for extention cords.

prehaps just power cords for indoor equipment, :)

If not for extension cords then what is the intent of section 240.5(B)(3) "or in extension cords made with separately listed and installed components"? :D

A Cord Cap is just the part that goes into the receptacle, rihgt? And what is a cord bodie?

midget, cap = plug, body = female end(the other end of the cord)

ok so one can make their own extension cord from seperatly listed and installed components,per 240.5(b)*(3)

this is what i was wondering.

thanks again for the direction to the code you guys.

since i work in an industrial plant it was interesting to note the section in 368.8 for connection to bussplugs thanks.
