Customer wants us to run a circuit from panel to gfci disconnect. for hot tub.
He states that he will put a plug below and run cord and plug to tub, I cannot find anything specific about cord but it does not seem code legal. Thoughts?

Unless the tub comes with a cord, which I doubt at 50A, it would go against the mfg specs and probably the listing of the tub.

Yes we told him that. I was just looking for code section that would allow a cord to be used. Code requires conduit to tub controller.
Of course code does state must be to manufacturers spec.

I found it. Looking in the wrong section. 684-42 A 2 allows it. But still must meet manuf. installation instructions.

My spa came from the factory with a setup for a 50A cord connection, the instructions had the required steps to change it to a raceway with individual conductors.
