I've been asked to adapt our timer to work in a cord & plug connected version with an outdoor receptacle. The easiest applications to visualize are powering cord & plug connected landscape transformers, holiday decorations, etc.
The user will need to be able to mount our device, plug it in, and plug their device into our device without needing an electrician.
Our timer presently is only in twist-lock or wire-in receptacle form.
I can take any wet location box and stub an LB off it and mount our wire-in unit on the LB. That's not a problem. It's ok that whatever we come with that they'll need to mount it to a wall or pedestal.
Or something bigger than the above if necessary.
Question: How could I power this box with a cord & plug so that any trainee kid working for a landscape company can mount it to a wall, plug it in, and plug in his landscape lighting transformer?
I'm thinking I can just make a whip out of SOOW. How long would that last?
Any better ideas?
