Cord with twist connectors

410.62 (C) allows cords for lighting, But can I wire a female twist connecter to the current cord (instead of of a receptacle at the 4x4 box) and plug the fixture to the it?
It will be a grounded connector, no strain, not a support, not subject to physical damage.
Fixtures will have 7L15p cords male end.

Replacing HIDs that were cord wired from the 4x4 box to the fixture with LED

Yes you can, however, why not have the receptacle at the box?
