cordless battery recalls

I was in one of the "box" stores today and noticed another cordless battery recall. This was a milwaukee recall. It stated that the batteries vent would not vent and that they would EXPLODE! I have that problem at times! Also there is a Dewalt recall on some of their batteries.

The Dewalt recall was because they fell out, not because they blew up... Only applied to the black-top batteries. The yellow-tops use a new latch design.

"DEWALT? Industrial Tool Co., of Baltimore, Md., is recalling for repair about 755,000 DEWALT? 18-volt battery packs (model DW9095) for use with various battery-operated tools. The battery packs' clips can come loose, causing the battery packs to fall. When working with these tools, falling battery packs weighing about 2.2 pounds can cause injury."

Same here: hammer-drill, recip saw, circular saw, jigsaw, angle grinder, and flashlight. Next: impact driver.

Larry what in the world you you need a 36 volt impact driver for?

I mean sure, if you doing mechanic work it would be nice but even a 14 volt impact gun snaps 1/4" hardware without a problem.

Besides, how else you going to drive 1/2" lags in to support a ceiling fan?

Bob, doesn't this bring back memories of that time you were up on the lift and the battery kept falling out of the drill?

I recently had one fall out of the fluorescent work light I had hung about 10' up, that could have hurt.

Because I want something that can snap 1/2" bolts! Arrgh, arrgh, arrghhhh! :grin:

Actually, as a contractor licensed for both home and commercial improvement as well as electrical, I sometimes need tools suitable for framing work.
