Put on your thinking caps! Location is at a university. Ceiling pole mounted projector stand with projector and a Room Media Controller box
that is mounted above the ceiling on the projector mount pole.. There is a 110V duplex mounted at ceiling height facing down into the room. The project power cord and the power pac cord for the Room Media Controller are plugged into this receptacle. Both cords then go through the ceiling tile into the above ceiling area. The power cord for the projector is then routed back down through the ceiling tile along with 3 data cables from the Room Media Controller to the projector. The 2nd power cord terminates at the power pac for the Medial Controller box above the ceiling. I'm of the opinion that Art. 400.8 and 400.7 place the entire routing of the power and data cables in violaiton. The entire system allows instructors to control the projector from a touch control computer screen located at the podium. I would appreciate any input on your opinion of the violation and any recommendations on how the power and data cabling could be accomplished without violating the code.
Thanks Le
