Corporate Licensing?

I live and work in New Hampshire and have been asked by a company wanting to start a branch in New Hampshire to hold the corporate licence. I have been asked before by other companies and declined, but I am interested this time around because of the level of company they are. What should I require for compensation and what is kind of role should I hold? I have checked the RSA's for NH and know that a Electrical contractor must hold a corporate licence if the owners don't have one them selves. A added twist to this is they are not a true electrical contractor in that they don't bid jobs they staff jobs with there employee's.

I have been asked before, as well. We did not proceed with things.

However, Larry has a very good point: I think you need a lawyer.

In addition to all this, you need to have some protection for yourself. Something to state YOU are not at fault, and that owners cannot come back on YOU.

If you do a search, there is at least 1 decent length thread on this subject (I think it ended last month), and you are sure to find others.

There were a lot of pros and cons to think about. Several which I had never considered myself.

ooh. that gave me a twist, all right..... are they electricians? methodists?
Libertarians? are they doing electrical work? what is your liability, legally and
financially, if something *really bad* happens? you know... "engine 51, squad
51, code three" kinda bad....

now's the time to talk to an attorney. they are cheaper when you are curious,
as opposed to desperate....

licenses aren't all that difficult to obtain. in california, a blind dog with a note
in it's mouth can get one.

stuff like this, to me, sounds like being sent out into the woods at night,
with a whistle and a gunny sack, to catch the snipe's when they come
running by.....

if you decide to go for it, let us know how it works out.... and don't forget
to bring a whistle.......

I guess my point is that something that falls into your lap and screams "Why would anybody say no to this offer?!" often comes with a hard-learned answer. I'm not saying to say no, just to check it out.
